Impressions of Indie Arena Booth
Design and Production for Events
Since 2016 i have been working as a designer, planner and logistics coordinator for event company Supercrowd on different projects. One of them is the Indie Arena Booth, a 1500+m² exhibition and community booth, yearly at Gamescom with smaller versions at different events.
Each year, the lineup, booth construction, transport details and experience for the guests changes, which makes it a varied and interesting undertaking each time.
Arcade Production
Other big events i worked on include the nerd-culture convention MAG in Erfurt in 2018 and 2019 and its successor, the Polaris convention in Hamburg in 2022 and 2024.
Besides high-level booth- and hall planning and the design and production of the exhibition spaces, the work also often involves planning and production of one-of-a-kind display pieces like these:

During Covid, the Indie Arena Booth was transformed into an interacive in-browser multiplayer game, so the work shifted from physical boothbuilding to level-design, developing colorful worlds to recreate the community-feeling and experience of exploring the exhibited games like on the physical booth:
